Senior pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, popularly known as Grace Nation Liberation City, Chris Okafor, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following days of tension that led to her arrest and eventual release by the Nigeria Police.

The cleric made the apology during a livestream shared by DavePlayBlogger on Sunday, which was later sighted by SaharaReporters on X. While admitting that mistakes had been made, Okafor denied the bulk of allegations levelled against him.

“Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past. And I tender apology to everybody,” he said during the broadcast.

Despite offering an apology, the pastor insisted that the accusations against him were untrue.

“But everything that was said is not true. Everything, take note, everything that was said was never true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said,” he stated.

Okafor, however, directly addressed Doris Ogala and others he acknowledged may have been hurt by his actions.

“But be it. I say I am sorry to everyone I have offended. To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry,” he said.

He further expressed willingness to make amends.

“And I apologize to everyone that I have offended. And once again, I repeat this. I’m ready to make restitution to anyone,” the pastor added.

Describing the apology as both personal and public, Okafor said:

“And anybody, any lady, anywhere, or man I have offended, I am sorry. Forgive me. I am not perfect. I’ve never been perfect.”

He continued, “I’m kneeling down before everyone. And before the church.”

Background of the Arrest

The apology follows the highly publicised arrest and release of Doris Ogala, earlier reported by SaharaReporters.

The actress was reportedly rearrested in Abuja shortly after being granted bail and later flown to Lagos by operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command.

Sources revealed that tensions escalated when Ogala’s lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, allegedly attempted to record police activities, leading to an assault on him and the confiscation of his phones.

After intervention by Take It Back Movement coordinator, Jamiu Towolawi, popularly known as Jharmo, Ogala was eventually released in Lagos last Monday.

Further findings showed that Pastor Okafor later met with the actress at the Zone 2 Command in Onikan, where he appealed for reconciliation.

A source disclosed that the cleric “fell flat on his knees and begged” Ogala during a closed-door meeting that reportedly lasted nearly an hour. She was subsequently released on health grounds, with Towolawi standing as surety.

Origin of the Dispute

The conflict began after Doris Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of reneging on an alleged promise to marry her.

Through her legal representatives, Synergy Law Partners, the actress demanded ₦1 billion in damages, citing emotional trauma, reputational damage, and financial loss.

She claimed the relationship, which allegedly started in 2017, involved repeated marriage assurances, family introductions, and significant financial dealings, including a ₦45 million transfer.
