Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini, widely known as Itele, has shared an emotional and inspiring story about one of the most important people in his journey to success — his former student, Kemity.
In a heartfelt revelation, the Yoruba movie star described Kemity as the very first student he ever taught, emphasizing her dedication, loyalty, and unwavering support during the most difficult period of his life. According to Itele, Kemity was not just a student but a pillar of strength who stood by him when he had little or nothing.
“Kemity was the first student I ever had. She was very hardworking and passionate. She spent about 8–10 years with me as my student,” the actor said.
The actor went on to recount how Kemity supported him financially and emotionally long before fame, recognition, and success came his way. At a time when he struggled to make ends meet, Kemity — who was selling drinks back then — consistently showed kindness and generosity.
“When I had nothing, she was there for me. Whenever there was a party and she knew I was broke, she would give me money to spray. She used to sell drinks then,” Itele revealed.
Describing her impact on his life, the actor used a powerful metaphor that has since resonated with fans across social media.
“I knew she would be great in life because she was like a cloth that covered my shame. I value her so much. She is like my blood,” he added.
