Dr. Charles Apoki, a Nigerian clergyman and international conference speaker who is widely known for his outspoken views on church leadership and morality, has once again stirred controversy following the release of a fresh video addressing the marriage of Pastor Chris Okafor. This time, Apoki’s focus was on Okafor’s new wife, Pearl, and her expressed desire to raise children with the popular cleric.
In the video, which Apoki shared on his official Facebook page, the Christian leader cautioned Pearl against expecting her husband to change his ways after marriage. Reacting to Pearl’s comments about her dreams of having children with Okafor, Apoki issued what he described as a frank warning rooted in reports he claimed to have received over time.
According to Apoki, Pastor Chris Okafor has long been associated with allegations of sexual misconduct. He boldly alleged that the pastor is addicted to what he termed “copulation and immorality,” adding that such reports allegedly trail Okafor across different countries. Apoki further stated that Pearl may find herself struggling to balance the public image of a successful marriage with the private reality of dealing with a promiscuous spouse.
In his words, “I can see you have a lot of aspirations of raising children for him that would be as huge as himself. Chris Okafor will not change. From all the reports right from the United States, from Cameroon, from all over the world.
He is addicted to copulation, to immorality, and you are going to be battling with trying to maintain sanity at home by not letting people see you as having made the bad choice and the reality of a promiscuous husband.”
He reinforced his stance in the caption of the video, writing, “An advice for Pearl, Dr. Chris Okafor’s new wife: The reality of promiscuity.”
This latest outburst comes after Dr. Charles Apoki previously criticised Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo for officiating at Chris Okafor’s wedding to Pearl. At the time, Apoki questioned the moral implications of celebrating the union amid unresolved allegations surrounding Okafor’s character and conduct.
As expected, Apoki’s comments have generated heated reactions online. While some social media users questioned the appropriateness of such advice to a newly married woman, others suggested that Pearl may already be aware of the controversies surrounding her husband but chose to proceed regardless. The debate continues to trend, further placing Pastor Chris Okafor’s marriage under intense public scrutiny.
