BBNaija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has sparked widespread reactions on social media following a passionate rant comparing the treatment of world-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua to that of her late sister, who was involved in a tragic accident with a Dangote truck.

Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) page, the reality TV star expressed deep frustration and emotional pain, questioning what she described as a clear disparity in how high-profile individuals are treated in Nigeria compared to ordinary citizens.

Phyna, who lost her sister after she was reportedly hit by a truck linked to Dangote Group, recalled her family’s struggle during her sister’s critical condition.

According to her, despite repeated pleas to have her sister flown abroad for advanced medical care, they were allegedly told she needed a “certificate” before she could travel — a process that dragged on for weeks.

In her words, Phyna wrote:

“Anthony Joshua was flown out immediately, but Dangote kept my sister for 21 days saying she needed a certificate to fly.”

Her statement has since ignited conversations online, with many Nigerians debating issues of privilege, wealth, and unequal access to medical care in the country.

The reality star’s comments followed reports surrounding Anthony Joshua’s recent road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where two of his associates reportedly lost their lives. While Joshua sustained injuries, updates indicated that he received swift medical attention, a development that further fueled Phyna’s emotional reaction.

This is not the first time Phyna has publicly called out Dangote Group. In the past, she had accused the company of negligence and poor handling of her sister’s medical emergency, claims that continue to generate mixed reactions across social media platforms.

As of the time of filing this report, Dangote Group has not issued an official response to Phyna’s latest comments. However, the incident has once again brought to the forefront discussions about accountability, corporate responsibility, and the perceived inequality in Nigeria’s healthcare and emergency response systems.

Phyna’s outburst has left many Nigerians asking hard questions: Does fame and wealth determine who gets immediate life-saving attention in Nigeria?
