“This Is Embarrassing, How Did We Get Here?” — Basketmouth Blasts Mr Jollof And Very Dark Man Over In-Flight Fight

Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has spoken out following the viral physical altercation between comedian Mr Jollof and controversial activist Very Dark Man (VDM).

 The pair recently made headlines after engaging in a shocking fistfight aboard a commercial flight reportedly travelling from Asaba, Delta State to Lagos. In the viral video circulating on social media, both men were seen exchanging blows inside a crowded United Nigeria Airlines aircraft, leaving passengers stunned.

Reacting in a video trending online, Basketmouth expressed deep disappointment over the incident and questioned how the entertainment industry had reached such a disgraceful point. He compared the situation to his own long-standing feud with comedian Ayo Makun (AY), stressing that despite their conflict, violence was never an option.

According to him, disagreements are normal, but allowing them to escalate into public chaos—especially in a confined space like an airplane—is unacceptable. Basketmouth stated:

“AY and I had issues for a very long time, but we never exchanged punches. How did we get here? Why can’t we live in love? As tight as a plane is, Mr Jollof and VDM still found a space to fight. This is embarrassing.”

The comedian went on to highlight the implications of such actions, noting that public figures should exercise restraint because their behavior reflects not only on themselves but on the entire Nigerian entertainment industry. 

He emphasized that physical confrontations, especially in high-security areas like aircraft, can lead to serious consequences, including arrest, bans, and public backlash.

Basketmouth’s reaction has since sparked widespread conversation online, with many agreeing that the in-flight fight was unprofessional and damaging to the image of celebrities who should be modeling better conflict-resolution behavior.
