Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has sent an emotional message to fellow BBNaija champion, Imisi, as the latter battles a public fallout with her mother.
The drama, which has dominated social media conversations since the weekend, deepened on Monday after a fresh exchange between Imisi and her mother surfaced online.
Phyna, reflecting on her own troubled history with her family, took to X to share a heartfelt note. She encouraged Imisi to stay strong and avoid repeating the mistakes she made during her own feud with her father.
“To Imisi, @imisiofficial, and to anyone walking through the same fire… I’m praying for your strength,” she wrote. She added that her own experience “broke” her, but she is slowly recovering. “Don’t handle it like I did. Build strong and focus on you, baby girl,” she urged.
Her message comes amid a messy dispute between Imisi and her mother, who recently accused her daughter of neglect and claimed that the BBNaija winner allowed her to remain in a run-down home despite winning N150 million. The mother also alleged hatred, emotional distance and other long-standing family issues.
In response, Imisi appealed for calm while addressing her mother respectfully in Yoruba. She reminded her mother that a family friend had warned her to avoid going public with their dispute.
Imisi said she does not want to escalate the situation, explaining that she is still recovering from the mental stress of the BBNaija show. She also promised to send money for her mother to move into a new apartment. “I am tired of all this drama,” she said. “Please forgive me, I am your daughter.”
The mother, however, insisted she was not interested in her daughter’s money. She also accused Imisi of exaggerating or misrepresenting her childhood struggles, saying the stories of neglect and sexual assault shared by her daughter were untrue.
She backed her claims with a video showing the old house she currently lives in, insisting she is content with her situation. The video quickly went viral and sparked heated reactions across social media.
The unfolding drama mirrors Phyna’s own experience. In 2023, after she won the BBNaija Level Up season, her father, Felix Otabor, expressed deep disappointment with her. He claimed he felt abandoned after she found fame and fortune. At the time, the controversy also dominated headlines and divided fans.
With this new conflict surrounding Imisi, Phyna appears determined to use her story as a cautionary example. Her public plea suggests that she has found healing and wants Imisi to avoid the emotional wounds she suffered.
The situation continues to evolve online as fans, celebrities and observers debate whether family feuds should be resolved privately or publicly. For now, both women appear to be navigating heavy emotions under the glare of social media, with many hoping that peace eventually returns to their homes.
