Nigerian gospel artiste Gaise Baba is grieving the death of his father, Prince (Barr.) Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye.
The singer shared the sad news in an emotional Instagram post, where he uploaded a photo of himself with his late father and thanked God for the life he lived.
Gaise Baba revealed that his father’s passing came “exactly seven months and seven days” after the death of his mother, Sarah Ibuoye, who died in April.
He wrote, “On Saturday night, November 22, at 7:31 p.m., my father, Prince (Barr.) Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye, Ààrẹ Apọ́nlésè of Okemesi Ekiti, went home to be with the Lord — exactly seven months and seven days after his wife, our mother, passed on.”
Despite his grief, the singer expressed faith and gratitude, adding, “There is no guilt in life and no fear in death. Even in the pain of his physical departure, we yield to God, and in all things, we give him thanks.”
Friends, fans, and fellow artistes have since flooded his comment section with condolences and prayers for his family.
Gaise Baba, born Akinade Gboluwaga Ibuoye, began his career in 2005 but gained widespread recognition earlier this year with his breakout song ‘No Turning Back’ featuring Lawrence Oyor. His other notable tracks include ‘Yield’, ‘Particularly’, ‘Elijah Level’, ‘Emergency’, ‘Lightout’ and ‘Talk Am’.
