Toke Makinwa Celebrates 365 Days of Answered Prayers, Says Her “Evidence Is Here”

Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa is celebrating a year since what she describes as her “answered prayers.”

Taking to her Instagram page, the former OAP shared throwback photos from her Thanksgiving Day last year, reflecting on how deeply significant that day was for her. She revealed that exactly a year later, she is now living in the reality of those prayers—with her daughter as the proof.

In her words:

“Currently living in my answered prayers.

365 days ago, today was TM’s Thanksgiving Day; for some, it looked like an excuse to throw a party, while for others, it was just a gathering. But no one, and I mean no one, will ever understand what that day meant to me. 20/10/24.

365 days after, and my evidence is here.”

It will be recalled that in August, Toke Makinwa welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, at the age of 40.

When her daughter turned one month old, the media star expressed her joy and gratitude, describing the experience as “unbelievable.” She thanked her little one for choosing her and promised to be the best mother she could be.

In a heartfelt note to her daughter, Toke wrote that her baby had changed her status and healed the broken heart she had carried since she was eight years old. She said she was already “drowning in her big ol’ eyes” and learning so much from her.

During an emotional moment on her podcast, Toke broke down in tears as she recalled her journey to motherhood. She revealed that she had prayed earnestly to God, asking to become a mother by the time she turned 40. According to her, God answered her prayer almost immediately, as she became pregnant just a month after her 40th birthday.

Toke Makinwa was previously married to fitness expert Maje Ayida, but their marriage ended in 2016 after two years. Speaking about the failed relationship, she shared that she was unfairly blamed for its collapse, despite her ex-husband fathering a child with another woman. She said the experience left her deeply traumatized as people spread different versions of what they believed happened in her marriage, even though she was the victim.
