Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has once again weighed in on actress Regina Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician and businessman, Ned Nwoko, advising her to remain loyal to her husband despite the controversy surrounding their relationship.
Taking to the comment section of Regina’s recent post on social media, the Zazu Zeh crooner offered a prayer for the actress, wishing her a lasting marriage and urging her to stay devoted to her man. Portable emphasized that loyalty is the key to a happy and successful relationship, noting that a loyal wife enjoys peace and blessings more than others.
“God bless your home forever. Please stay loyal. Loyalty pass juju. Na wife wey dey loyal dey enjoy life pass,” he wrote.
Portable’s comment quickly stirred mixed reactions online, with some social media users applauding his message while others accused him of meddling in matters that do not concern him.
This isn’t the first time the street-hop singer has publicly advised the young actress on her marriage. Earlier in the year, when rumours of tension between Regina and her husband made headlines, Portable had made controversial comments about her. At the time, he admitted to being attracted to her, openly confessing that he had his eyes on her body.
He further advised her then not to make rash decisions in her marriage, saying that any woman who leaves her husband because of another woman would face tough consequences.
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels has been at the centre of widespread media attention following reports of alleged domestic violence in her marriage. In a viral video that circulated online last week, the actress was seen surrounded by several men, while her brother confronted individuals allegedly sent by her husband to harass her. The incident drew outrage from fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom called for justice and urged the actress to prioritize her safety.
In response to the growing controversy, Senator Ned Nwoko issued a public statement addressing the situation. He dismissed the domestic violence allegations, claiming that the real issue stemmed from Regina’s alleged struggle with substance abuse. According to the senator, his wife has been battling addiction to drugs and alcohol, and his attempts to help her seek professional treatment have often been met with resistance.
He also accused Regina of exhibiting violent behaviour at home, alleging that she had assaulted three domestic staff members and caused property damage during one of her outbursts.
The public exchange between the couple prompted reactions from several Nollywood stars who expressed concern over the situation.
Actress Yvonne Jegede, in a post shared on social media, urged Regina to leave the marriage if the allegations of domestic violence were true. She warned that no one should remain in an abusive relationship for the sake of public perception or pressure from social media.
“If domestic violence is violence, she should leave,” Yvonne stated, adding that Regina must not allow “bitter and jobless internet trolls” to influence her decisions because there is never an excuse for abuse.
Similarly, veteran actress Georgina Onuoha condemned Ned Nwoko’s decision to publicly release a statement accusing his wife of drug and alcohol abuse. She questioned his motives and criticized the senator for humiliating the mother of his children in the public eye.
“Within less than 24 hours, he publicly released a statement portraying his wife and the mother of his children as a drug addict. The decision to respond in such a public, humiliating manner raises serious questions. What responsible man or husband publicly shames the mother of his children?” Georgina wrote.
Adding his voice to the conversation, Prince Kpokpogri, the ex-boyfriend of actress Tonto Dikeh, also spoke out. Drawing from his own experience with a messy breakup, he cautioned Nigerians against celebrating the downfall of others.
He urged the public to show empathy rather than mockery when relationships fall apart, emphasizing that everyone faces personal struggles.
Portable’s recent comments appear to reflect his attempt to show support for Regina Daniels amid the ongoing storm in her marriage. Whether his advice will resonate with the actress remains uncertain, but his call for loyalty and peace has once again placed him in the spotlight of Nigeria’s ever-dramatic celebrity scene.
