Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has raised the alarm over a fresh case of impersonation after a woman accused him of scamming her out of $5,000 in a romance scheme.

The actor, popularly known as Maka, took to his social media to share a screenshot of an email he received from the woman, who claimed to have been in an online relationship with someone using his identity. According to her, the alleged scam spanned over two years and involved multiple transactions.

In the email, the woman threatened to expose Ninalowo to media houses in Nigeria and the United States while also involving the FBI and her attorney. She wrote:

“Hey Scam Master. You crying about losing funds with Instagram because of my truthful comments of your romance scamming, you have left me no choice but to report you to every media outlets in Nigeria and America, and the 5000 dollars you scammed from me, is just enough for the FBI to consider it a felony.

I have receipts for every dollar taken, and I have enough pictures, emails, screenshots and checks, not to mention the bank transactions. I am turning it all in this morning to my attorney who specializes in international scams and fraud. King Daddy Nino, oh I mean Bolanle Ninalowo, your 2+ years of romance scamming me is over!”

Reacting to the allegations, Ninalowo made it clear that he had no connection to the woman and was not involved in any fraudulent activity. He emphasized that he has been battling with multiple impersonators, especially on TikTok and Instagram, who use his identity to deceive unsuspecting fans.

The actor explained that after realizing she had been scammed, the woman eventually found his official Instagram account and began sending him emails filled with accusations and threats.

In his response, Ninalowo warned his fans against falling victim to such impersonation scams. He noted that he only operates through his verified social media handles and would never ask anyone for money or engage in online relationships.

“So after this madam realizes she has been scammed, then she does her due diligence to find the REAL Bolanle Ninalowo’s IG & Email and ever since, na so so emails of threat & accusations!” he wrote. “I really hope you & many others who fall victim to these impersonators WAKE UP .

Note: if anyone on this God’s own earth is in a current or about to initiate an online relationship with any one of the many supposed ME’s, YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED or are about to! So. Enough said.”

He further urged his followers to exercise caution when dealing with individuals online, especially those claiming to be celebrities, stressing that scammers often exploit trust and admiration to manipulate people.

This is not the first time the actor has raised concerns about impersonation. Over the years, several Nollywood stars have complained about fake accounts being used to solicit funds or lure fans into fraudulent relationships.

Ninalowo’s latest warning serves as a reminder of the dangers of online scams and the need for vigilance in protecting personal finances and emotional well-being.
