Former Big Brother Naija star Tacha has revisited her journey since leaving the reality show in 2019, speaking on the backlash that trailed her disqualification and the challenges she later faced while living abroad.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Tacha recalled the intense public reaction following her exit from the “Pepper Dem” season, revealing that some critics went as far as celebrating her downfall.
“I’ve been called different types of names. I got disqualified from the reality TV show and people killed a goat, killed stuff,” she said.
Her disqualification came after a clash with fellow housemate Mercy Eke, who eventually emerged winner of the season. The incident not only cost Tacha her place in the competition but also reshaped public perception of her, with many attaching different labels to her personality.
Beyond her reality TV experience, the media personality shared details about her time in the UK, where she struggled with the high cost of living. She disclosed that she spent as much as £5,000 a month on rent in a high-end neighborhood, which made social interactions difficult as her friends were busy juggling multiple jobs.
“Before you sleep and wake up, it’s 30 days already, and you’re like, I have to start calculating,” she said, reflecting on the financial pressure of living in the UK.
