Controversial Nigerian street-hop artist, Portable, has called out online personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) over his recent comments concerning the late singer Mohbad. In a strongly-worded message that is currently going viral across social media platforms, Portable accused VDM of being a "manipulator" and questioned his integrity regarding the #JusticeForMohbad campaign that once united Nigerians in outrage.
Portable, known for his outspoken and often unfiltered statements, directly confronted VDM in a public address, saying:
“VDM, you’re a manipul@tor. What exactly did Iyabo Ojo do to you? You once claimed to be fighting for Justice for Mohbad—so why are you now speaking against him?”
The Zazu crooner didn’t hold back, expressing disappointment that VDM, who rose to wider recognition during the Justice for Mohbad movement, would now allegedly switch sides and question the narrative surrounding Mohbad's traumatic experiences in the industry.
“Don’t try to change the minds of Nigerians. Who made you the judge of who’s good or bad?” Portable added. “We know the real ones. We know the bull!es. We know those who threaten people with death just for leaving their record label.”
Portable emphasized that his stance remains clear because he was never signed by anyone and has maintained independence throughout his career. He pointedly reminded VDM that:
“It was the Justice for Mohbad movement that made people even start knowing you, and now you’re turning on him? Fear God! Everyone will d!e one day.”
He further criticized VDM for allegedly ignoring crucial evidence, including viral footage that showed Mohbad bleeding and in distress after allegedly being assaulted.
“You’ve never spoken about where Mohbad was bull!ed. You never addressed the moment bl00d was dripping from his body after he was be@ten. Why stay silent on that?”
This public spat has reignited online conversations surrounding Mohbad’s death, bullying in the Nigerian music industry, and the role of influencers in justice advocacy. Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records, passed away under controversial circumstances in September 2023, triggering widespread protests and calls for justice.
Portable's fiery remarks have now added fuel to the ongoing debates, drawing fresh attention to the unresolved aspects of Mohbad’s case. With hashtags like #JusticeForMohbad, #Portable, and #VeryDarkMan trending again, the Nigerian entertainment scene remains tense as fans demand accountability and truth.
