Nigerian social media is currently buzzing with drama as Facebook user Chisom Pretty A publicly criticized Priscilla Ojo, daughter of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, over alleged desperation to get married. The viral post, which has sparked heated debates online, accuses Priscilla of completely changing her identity to please a man she reportedly met just a year ago.
In the now-trending Facebook post, Chisom accuses the influencer and fashion entrepreneur of abandoning her name, culture, religion, and even identity, all in a bid to become “Mrs.” The post reads:
"Your Mum and Dad named you Priscilla. You answered that name for over 25 years. You met a man just a year ago, he decided that Priscilla is no longer a good name for you, then changed your name to Hadiza, just because you married him."
Chisom further alleged that Priscilla Ojo is desperately trying to prove that, unlike her mother’s failed marriage, hers must succeed — no matter the cost.
"You want to prove that even though your mum's marriage didn't work, that yours must work Insha Allah."
She didn’t stop there. The user detailed the lengths Priscilla allegedly went to make the marriage work, suggesting that she changed her country, religion, tribe, culture, food, surname, and even her first name, all for a man.
"Only you changed country, changed tribe, changed religion, changed culture, changed food, changed surname, changed first name, changed your whole identity just because of a fellow human being that did not share womb with you nor carried you in his sukrutum for 9 months."
The post also made a swipe at Priscilla's mother, actress Iyabo Ojo, implying that she is also trying too hard to convince the public that her family doesn’t have a history of failed marriages.
"Your mum on the other hand is trying so hard to prove a point with that marriage. She is trying to tell the world that even though her marriage didn't work, she will do everything possible to prove that 'marry and divorce' isn't in her lineage."
Chisom concluded the viral post with a strong message about love and identity, saying:
"The young man has seen this desperation and is taking full advantage of it. This is not love. Love is freedom. Love does not cage. Love will not rip you off of everything you have, including your identity. Love will allow you thrive on your own. Love is when you can be yourself. This is m@dness."
The comments section under the post has since been flooded with mixed reactions, with many netizens divided — some agreeing with Chisom’s perspective, while others believe it’s nobody’s business what changes Priscilla makes in her personal life.
As of now, Priscilla Ojo and her mother Iyabo Ojo have not responded publicly to the viral comments, but social media is watching closely for any reaction.
