Phyna had alleged that the incident occurred in Auchi, Edo State, when a Dangote truck knocked down her sister, leading to the amputation of one leg, while the other remains at risk.
In a statement issued by the company, Dangote Group confirmed that senior officials and its insurance team had visited the victim and her sister at the hospital.
“Following the recent accident in Auchi, Edo State, which sadly resulted in injury of Mrs Ruth Otabor, senior officials from Dangote Cement PLC together with our insurance team promptly visited the scene and engaged with law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.
The company further reiterated its dedication to supporting the affected family, pledging to cover medical expenses and provide compensation in line with its welfare policy.
“Dangote Cement reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the well-being of the affected individuals, assuring full support for Mrs Ruth Otabor’s medical care and providing appropriate compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy,” the statement added.
