Nigerian media personality and actress Toke Makinwa has playfully mocked herself for breaking down in tears online while sharing her pregnancy journey.
On the latest episode of her podcast, Toke became emotional as she reflected on her trials and preparations to become a first-time mum. She revealed that she had prayed to God to turn 40 as a mother, and when she clocked 40 in November last year, her prayers were answered as she became pregnant in December.
Toke expressed gratitude, noting that God never failed her and encouraged others that “it is never too late.”
Taking to her Instagram page afterwards, the actress poked fun at herself for crying on the internet, especially as she used to laugh at people who did so. She admitted she was “a mess” as her heart was “over the moon” and her life was filled with blessings.
“I am a ball of emotions… I mean the good kind of cry. I cannot believe I cried on the internet. I’m one to laugh at people who cry online, but let me call myself out before you guys do it. I’m a mess, my heart is over the moon, the lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, and it’s only the beginning. It got pretty heavy on the Pod as I shared this precious journey with my @tokemoments family. God is never late, I hope this encourages you to hold on tight xx,” she wrote.
Toke added that this is just the beginning for her, describing the experience as deeply emotional and fulfilling.
