Jennifer Awele, the widow of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, has taken to social media to express her sorrow and deep sense of loss on what would have marked their 11th wedding anniversary.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jennifer shared the emotional weight of the day, revealing that they had no anniversary photoshoot this year—an annual tradition the couple had cherished. “We no do photoshoot this year oo. So it’s true,” she wrote, alongside throwback photos and videos of previous celebrations. The poignant statement, though brief, captured her grief and the harsh reality of facing such a significant day alone.
The couple, who were known for showcasing their strong bond publicly, tied the knot in 2014 and had since built a home filled with love and three children. Their affectionate posts and anniversary shoots often lit up social media, drawing admiration from fans and colleagues alike.
This year, however, the mood was somber, as Jennifer confronted the painful truth of navigating life without her husband. Junior Pope tragically passed away in April 2024, following a fatal boat accident while returning from a movie shoot.
