Music executive Muyiwa Awoniyi has announced the end of his professional relationship with Nigerian singer Omah Lay.
Taking to his X account on Friday, Awoniyi shared a brief message confirming that he will no longer be managing the Soso crooner. Though he didn’t go into details, his tone suggested that the split was mutual and without bad blood.
“With love and respect, I am no longer managing @Omah_Lay,” he wrote.
“That’s my brother and I wish him all the best in his endeavours for life!”
Awoniyi, who is known for managing Grammy-winning artist Tems, has been a prominent figure in the African music scene. He also previously worked with Nigerian-Canadian singer Nonso Amadi.
While the reason for the split wasn’t disclosed, the tone of Awoniyi’s message points to an amicable parting.
