Tragedy struck in Kogi State as Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a well-known lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, was confirmed dead after a reported rendezvous in a hotel room. The incident, which has sparked controversy and online reactions, is currently under police investigation.

Dr. Ibikunle, who was reputed for his strict academic standards, allegedly checked into a hotel three days prior with a young woman said to be a 200-level student from the Department of Social Studies Education. According to local sources, the lady is of Ebira descent and described as attractive.

Witness accounts suggest the lecturer consumed multiple energy drinks before their encounter, reportedly to boost his performance. “It was like he was preparing for a Champions League final,” a source remarked humorously.

The first round of intimacy was said to have gone smoothly. However, as the second round was about to begin, Dr. Ibikunle allegedly collapsed and died on the spot.

The student quickly raised the alarm, and authorities were alerted. She is currently in police custody, maintaining that she has no idea what caused the lecturer’s death. Nonetheless, investigators suspect foul play and are probing the possibility of poisoning or other suspicious circumstances.

In a rather shocking twist, some students at the university have reacted with unexpected celebration. Due to his notorious reputation as a strict examiner, social media has been flooded with memes and humorous comments from students who had once been under his academic supervision.

The police have yet to release an official cause of death pending autopsy results.

Below are the reactions from the university students.
