Nigerian investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has sparked controversy with a bold claim regarding Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, and her husband, Tanzanian singer Jux.
The couple, who recently made headlines with the announcement that they are expecting their first child, have now found themselves at the center of a surrogate-related speculation. Taking to her official Facebook page, Olunloyo alleged that the couple did not conceive their child naturally but opted for surrogacy.
According to her post, the couple has already welcomed a baby boy and chosen to name him “Baby Mkambala.” She further claimed that the child will hold triple citizenship. “UPDATE: Jux and Priscilla Mkambala used a surrogate. Congratulations to them on their new son, BabyMkambala. 3 passports. Everyone can have a baby,” Olunloyo wrote.
While the couple has not publicly responded to the claims, the journalist’s revelation has generated significant buzz online, particularly around the idea of high-profile individuals choosing surrogacy, which remains a sensitive topic in many African cultures.
Olunloyo’s statement hints at the modern dynamics of parenting, where options like surrogacy offer hopeful parents alternative paths to starting a family. Her emphasis on the child’s triple nationality—Canadian, Tanzanian, and Nigerian—has also raisedquestions about the couple's possible international lifestyle and their desire to give their son global opportunities from birth.
As of now, neither Priscilla nor Jux has confirmed or denied the surrogate claims, leaving the public to speculate while awaiting an official statement. Nonetheless, the congratulatory tone of Olunloyo’s message suggests a positive view of the couple’s decision, despite the sensitive nature of her allegation.
