A prophecy by South African pastor John Anosike about Nigerian music star Davido has sparked widespread debate online.
In a viral video from a service at his New World Faith Ministries church in Cape Town, Pastor Anosike declared that God has anointed Davido to save Nigeria’s economy and ultimately become the country’s president, bringing unity and transformation.
The pastor also linked Davido’s successful secular music career and his recent reunion with his daughter as signs of his divine destiny.
He said:
“God has put oil on him. He calls him my servant. For he shall be the president of Nigeria, and he shall unite the country. Yet this guy is a circular musician, but chosen by God in the realm of the spirit. In the spirit realm, I saw him kneeling before Jesus, and the Lord took a jar of oil and poured it upon his head and declared to me that he had been appointed to unite the country.”
The prophecy has since divided opinions on social media, with many reacting strongly to the pastor’s bold prediction.
