Nigerian actor and filmmaker Daniel Etim Effiong has shared a deeply personal story about his early life, shedding light on the struggles that shaped his passion for storytelling and advocacy.

“I was just four when my mom d!ed… I was only one when my dad was taken to prison,” Effiong revealed. “She d!ed in an accident on her way to visit him.”

Following the tragic loss of his mother, Daniel was raised by his grandparents and later by other relatives, including aunties and uncles. These formative years, marked by loss and displacement, fueled his drive to tell meaningful stories and speak for those whose voices often go unheard.

“This is why I’m deeply passionate about storytelling — and why I speak up for those who have no one to speak for them,” he explained.
