Omowunmi, the wife of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, took to social media to honor him on Father’s Day, despite his passing. Sharing a heartfelt tribute via her Instagram story, she posted a touching photo of the singer with their son, Liam.
She wrote:
“Happy Father’s Day to the greatest father that ever lived. Even in death, you still showed up. I feel it all the time, keep watching over Liam.”
Omowunmi expressed that Mohbad continues to be present in their lives spiritually, and she feels his presence often.
Her emotional tribute follows her appearance at the Headies Awards, where Mohbad was posthumously recognized with two major awards: Best Street Music (Street Hop Artiste) of the Year and Viewer’s Choice for his hit collaboration, ‘Egwu’ with Chike.
During her speech at the event, Omowunmi shared that she doesn’t like to refer to Mohbad as her "late" husband, emphasizing that he lives on—especially through their son.
She also expressed appreciation to the Headies organizers, saying the recognition of Mohbad’s talent and legacy means a great deal to her and their family.
