Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has boldly declared that no song in Nigeria today carries more cultural and digital weight than his 2023 hit single, Declan Rice. In a recent interview, the rapper defended his artistry and style, arguing that the song is not just a musical triumph but a historic moment for Nigerian hip-hop.
Odumodublvck highlighted how Declan Rice gained international attention after it was used by Arsenal Football Club to announce the signing of English midfielder Declan Rice. According to him, this single act has made the song Arsenal’s biggest digital asset on social media, proving its global influence.
“In the history of Nigerian hip-hop, no Nigerian song has had more impact in the world like Declan Rice. It is the biggest digital asset on Arsenal Football Club ever on social media. Check it,” he said.
The rapper also took time to address critics who downplay his rap credentials. He challenged them to present any Nigerian rap line or song with more cultural impact than his. “They said I’m not a rapper. That’s a fallacy. That’s ungrateful. And God will punish all of them,” he added.
Referencing his diverse lyrical style, Odumodublvck noted that he’s delivered A1 verses in English, vernacular, and even patois, proving his versatility. He claimed that other rappers who attempt to mimic his sound often get discouraged by backlash, but that hasn’t stopped him from setting new standards.
His strong stance and confidence reaffirm his place as one of the most talked-about voices in modern Nigerian hip-hop.
