Nollywood’s male stars are no longer taking the back seat when it comes to fashion, glamour, and presence on the red carpet.
In 2025, a new wave of Nollywood actors is confidently stepping into the limelight not just for their talent on screen but also for their show-stopping appearances at movie premieres, award ceremonies, and film festivals.
These men are rewriting the rules of red carpet fashion, combining traditional Nigerian elegance with bold modern styles.
Leading the pack is Timini Egbuson, who continues to be a style icon in the industry. Whether it’s a clean tuxedo or a daring agbada ensemble, Timini knows how to turn heads. At the 2025 AMVCA, his purple velvet suit paired with gold accessories had fashion bloggers buzzing for days. He has consistently proven that fashion is not gendered, and style is a language every serious actor must learn to speak fluently.
Also making waves is Stan Nze, who has mastered the art of blending masculinity with finesse. Known for his tailored fits and cool confidence, Stan recently stunned fans at the premiere of Scandal in Surulere in a three-piece burgundy suit with intricate embroidery. His choices often pay homage to African roots while maintaining that red carpet-worthy appeal.
Then there’s Deyemi Okanlawon, whose style leans towards luxury minimalism. His outfits are often understated yet impactful, drawing attention through sharp tailoring and high-end fabrics. At the Reverse movie launch hosted by Linda Ikeji, Deyemi wore a crisp all-white kaftan with a designer wristwatch that subtly screamed affluence.
Another favorite is Kunle Remi, who brings edge and creativity to every appearance. He’s not afraid to experiment mixing streetwear elements with classic African attire. His 2025 fashion risk at the Nollywood Night in Paris, where he paired a silk buba with combat boots and chains, drew both praise and controversy.
In a statement earlier this year, celebrity stylist Toyin Black said: “These guys understand that their red carpet presence is part of their brand. It’s not just about the film anymore it’s how you look presenting it.”
As Nollywood continues to globalize, these actors are not only telling Nigerian stories but also dressing for international attention. They’ve become red carpet royalty in their own right reminding the world that African men can shine just as brightly under the spotlight.
