Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy is stepping into the world of cinema with the upcoming pan-African thriller 3 Cold Dishes, serving as an executive producer alongside celebrated actress Osas Ighodaro.
Slated for a November 7, 2025 cinema debut, the gripping drama follows the intersecting paths of three women from different African countries on a relentless quest for vengeance.
“They were taken, silenced, forgotten. But they didn’t stay that way,” the official synopsis reads, teasing an intense tale of justice and reckoning. Described as a “searing tale of justice, fury, and the reckoning that follows,” 3 Cold Dishes dives deep into the emotional and psychological aftermath of trauma, turning pain into purpose.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker IamASurf, the film features a screenplay by Tomi Adesina and stunning cinematography from Kenechukwu Obiajulu. The first official teaser is set to drop June 26, giving audiences a glimpse into the high-stakes drama that awaits.
The film brings together an impressive cast of stars from across the continent, including Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure, Wale Ojo, Maud Guerard, Ruby Akubueze, Bamba The Great, Amelie Mbaye, Gregory Ojefua, Femi Jacobs, Tomiwa Sage, Didier Nassegande, and Brutus The Actor, among many others. Their characters span Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mauritania—countries where the movie was also filmed—giving the production its authentic cross-border richness.
The behind-the-scenes team is equally loaded with talent. From production coordinators @mr_umanu_elijah and @generalSnow_, to assistant directors @Aby.mene, @marzoukbankole, and @spaviba, the project features experienced professionals covering every technical aspect. Gaffer @stanley_ibegbu and Key Grip @kelvinomons bring the visuals to life, while @color_refinery handles color grading and @em.bassey leads visual effects.
Also on the crew are BTS photographers and videographers such as @photogrilnaija, @snapp_code, @_poetry, @ayoekunzvisuals, and @solomonusuanlele, who have been tasked with capturing the energy and emotion of the production process.
