Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Nengi, has addressed the backlash she received following her choice of outfit at a recent celebrity event.
Making her first public appearance since becoming a mother, Nengi attended the Elite Party hosted by Vice The Party on Sunday. The event, which drew numerous celebrities, saw the new mum donning a see-through outfit that revealed her figure—particularly her backside—prompting a wave of criticism online.
In response, Nengi took to her Instagram stories to speak candidly about her post-baby body journey. She shared that she is still in the recovery phase following an emergency C-section and has not yet been cleared to resume gym workouts.
“2 months post-emergency C-section. Not cleared for the gym yet. Still healing, still learning to love this new body even though sometimes all I have is a tiny thread of confidence,” she wrote. “And I’ll take every little moment that helps me feel like me again.”
Despite the harsh comments, Nengi maintained her sense of humor, offering a sarcastic remark to her critics: “Okay, okay, next time I’ll tie wrapper and head tie. Y’all happy now? Lol.”
Her statement has sparked a mix of reactions, with many praising her for her honesty and vulnerability about the challenges of postpartum recovery.
