Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians to come to the aid of veteran actress Jumoke George, who is battling severe health issues and homelessness.
The appeal follows a recent interview in which Jumoke revealed she has been homeless for the past five to six years and has been surviving under the care of her church. According to her, the pastor’s wife has been providing her with food and shelter.
Jumoke also disclosed that her health has deteriorated significantly since January 2nd, leading to multiple hospital visits. She shared that she now needs to undergo brain and heart tests but lacks the financial means, as her son has already borrowed up to N2 million in an effort to keep her afloat.
Deeply moved by Jumoke’s situation, Biola Bayo took to Instagram to share how a voice note from the veteran shook her to the core and compelled her to act immediately.
“I received a heart-wrenching message from Madam Jumoke George, recounting her painful and disheartening situation,” Biola wrote.
“The content of the voice note troubled my heart so much that I couldn’t wait any moment longer where I was, so I urgently moved myself and my crew to the place she is staying. After listening to her story, my heart could not hold the pain.”
Calling on the public for assistance, Biola added:
“Madam Jumoke George desperately needs our help, and I hope we will come through for her.”
