Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has once again fired shots at gospel singer Tope Alabi, revealing new details about their strained relationship.
In a fresh video shared online, Lizzy claimed that she distanced herself from fellow gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori—not out of dislike, but because of her loyalty to Tope. She said despite having no personal issues with Yinka, she intentionally avoided playing her songs on social media to stand by Tope.
She recalled turning down an award show invitation in Canada simply because Yinka Alaseyori was billed to perform. “I didn’t honour the invitation because it wasn’t Tope Alabi performing,” she stated.
According to Lizzy, she had always supported Tope, even when the gospel singer was under public scrutiny over her alleged refusal to allow her daughter’s father attend her wedding. “My team advised me not to, but I still went ahead and played her song to show support,” she said.
Lizzy also provided what she described as “proof” that a fan reached out to Tope Alabi’s team on her behalf for a birthday surprise on January 26, underscoring how much she admired the singer.
However, she expressed disappointment that Tope has remained silent while people mock her over the alleged public humiliation. “If Tope wasn’t enjoying how people were dragging me, she would have come out to clear the air,” Lizzy said.
Taking things further, Lizzy dropped a controversial claim, alleging that Tope’s gospel music career was rooted in traditional spiritual practices. “She started with a traditionalist who founded a church everyone knows,” Lizzy said. “I didn’t resort to rituals just to become famous.”
This ongoing drama between Lizzy Anjorin and Tope Alabi appears far from over, as Lizzy seems determined to keep exposing what she sees as a betrayal.
