On April 10, 2025, Jennifer Awele, the widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, marked the poignant one-year anniversary of his tragic passing with a heartfelt tribute on her Instagram page. Junior Pope, who lost his life in a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State on April 8, 2024, left behind not just a grieving wife, but three young sons, Jason, Jaden, and Jamon.
In her tribute, Jennifer shared the emotional toll of navigating grief while trying to remain strong for their children. She described the painful moments when her sons, particularly Jason and Jaden, recalled their father’s promises, including taking them to a football academy and attending their first match. The youngest, Jamon, fondly remembered his father’s promise of a big toy car. Jennifer expressed the profound emptiness of trying to fulfill these promises without him.
Grateful for the love and support they have received over the past year, Jennifer emphasized the lasting impact of Junior Pope’s legacy, which lives on not only in his family but in the hearts of his fans and the Nollywood community. She concluded her message with a touching reflection: “Though you’re no longer by our side, you live on in every memory, every smile, and every tear. We shall carry you with us always until we meet again.”
