Toke Makinwa, a Nigerian media personality, actress, and author, has shared her thoughts on the concept of marriage, revealing that she wouldn’t mind embracing polygamy if the opportunity arises.

While speaking on the recent episode of her podcast, shared on X on Saturday, the media figure said she would consider being a second, third, or even fourth wife if she chose to marry again. 

“At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to marry again, as a second, third, fourth or fifth wife, I will take it,” she remarked.

She also addressed the difficulties women encounter in marriage and stressed that taking care of mental health should be a priority, a viewpoint she strongly aligns with.

Her statement has ignited an online conversation, with many seeing it as a playful expression of her relaxed approach to relationships.

Toke previously married Maje Ayida in a private ceremony on January 15, 2014, but their union was annulled in 2017 by a Lagos High Court, following Ayida’s infidelity.
