Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Yul Edochie, has taken to his Instagram page to reflect on a deeply personal decision that he says has transformed his life for the better. In a heartfelt post shared earlier today, the actor revealed that embracing his traditional roots and fully immersing himself in the practices and beliefs of his ancestors has been the best decision he has ever made.
Edochie, whose daring opinions and lifestyle choices have frequently generated discussions on and off social media, said that he has found clarity, serenity, and a closer bond with himself since he returned to traditional spirituality. He claims that this path has guided him towards what he refers to as "true liberation" and opened his eyes to truths that he had previously missed.
“I have no regrets whatsoever,” he wrote. “Becoming a traditionalist is the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. It has brought me peace and deeper understanding. I only wish I had made the move earlier.”
The actor continued by acknowledging that the only thing he regrets about this journey is how long it took him to realise this.
He pointed out that he would have avoided some pitfalls and adopted a more rewarding path sooner if he had realised the strength, wisdom, and spiritual depth of his ancestors' way of life sooner.
Yul encouraged everyone, especially Africans, to educate themselves about their roots and heritage. He emphasised that while modern religions have their place, one can feel powerful and empowered by respecting and comprehending traditional beliefs.
