With the signing of the final divorce documents, Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has formally ended her marriage to renowned Nigerian musician Innocent "2Baba" Idibia. The couple, who were married for 13 years and spent more than 20 years together, had earlier this year announced their separation.
In March, Annie publicly addressed the breakup for the first time, sharing her decision to handle the situation privately. “Silence isn’t weakness, it’s peace," she stated. "Since my divorce from Innocent Idibia, I chose to step back, reflect, and heal away from the noise. The truth is, not everything needs to be explained, and not every battle is meant to be fought in public.”
The split drew renewed public attention after 2Baba announced his engagement to Natasha Osawaru, a serving member of the Edo State House of Assembly, not long after their separation became public.
Since then, Annie has gone back to using her given name, Macaulay, and has progressively made her way back to social media, posting thankfulness messages and emphasising her time with family and personal development.
Supporters have continued to offer encouragement and support for Annie and 2Baba as they both start new chapters in their lives.
