Nigerian singer Portable has stirred controversy with bold claims that fellow artists Olamide and Davido are copying his style and ideas. In a recent outburst, Portable accused Olamide of using Asake to sabotage his career, alleging that the veteran artist’s actions were aimed at pushing him out of the music industry. He claimed that Olamide’s interference forced him to relocate to Sango Ota and left him without his producer, promoter, and dancer, forcing him to rebuild his career from scratch. Despite these allegations, Portable acknowledged Olamide’s contribution to his hit song “Zazu,” thanking him for the verse that helped propel the track to success.
Portable didn’t stop there. He also accused Olamide of copying his fashion style, particularly the trend of wearing big shoes and oversized clothes, which he claimed Olamide had Asake adopt. This accusation adds another layer to the ongoing tension between the two artists, as Portable continues to position himself as a trendsetter in the industry.
Turning his attention to Davido, Portable claimed that he was the first artist to promote cryptocurrency and Bitcoin in the Nigerian music scene, only for Davido to allegedly steal the idea. He also criticized Davido’s recent appointment as an ambassador for the brand Jayplug, a role Portable had previously promoted. Portable suggested that Davido’s actions were driven by greed for small deals, further fueling the rivalry between the two.
Portable’s comments have sparked mixed reactions from fans and industry observers. While some view his claims as an attempt to stay relevant in the competitive music scene, Regardless of the validity of his accusations, Portable’s outspoken nature continues to keep him in the spotlight, ensuring that his name remains a topic of discussion in the Nigerian entertainment industry. As the drama unfolds, it remains to be seen how Olamide and Davido will respond to these allegations.
