We are either at war with one another or the system is at war with its people. Nothing outside the stated, can justify the figures coming from the NBS.
This copied report says it all:
'This NBS report shows that more people were kidnapped in Nigeria (2.2m) in the last 1 year than the populations of:
Lesotho - 2,120,000
Slovenia - 2,118,697
Latvia- 1,871,871
Equatorial Guinea - 1,669,000
Guinea-Bissau - 1,663,000
Estonia- 1,360,546
Cyprus -1,358,282
Mauritius - 1,235,000
Djibouti- 1,052,000
Comoros - 860,600
Cape Verde- 491,100
Sao Tome and Principe- 228,300
Seychelles- 105,000
Luxembourg -673,036
Malta- 539,607
The report also shows that more Nigerians (614,937) were killed than in the Russia - Ukraine war (67,000). This casualty figure in Nigeria is almost 10× more than the casualty figures in the Russia-Ukraine war'.
The statistics become worrisome when its economic implications are considered.
2.2 million quoted by the NBS is of course generated from the officially reported cases. Many a family of victims would rather cooperate with the kidnappers by not reporting to the police.
If we consider the ransom value to the kidnappers of 2.2m Nigerians in the last 1 year. Let's assume that at least just a million was placed on each victim, that would be 1 m × by 2.2 m. = 2,200,000,000,000
That's how much, a criminal enterprise, pocketed from our crippled economy.
The productive labour force and indeed the entire population of the listed nations singly could be taken out of Nigeria without US losing our sleep nor our political class disturb about how WE feel or what may be OUR reactions; Lesotho - 2,120,000
Slovenia - 2,118,697
Latvia- 1,871,871
Equatorial Guinea - 1,669,000
Guinea-Bissau - 1,663,000
Estonia- 1,360,546
Cyprus -1,358,282
Mauritius - 1,235,000
Djibouti- 1,052,000
Comoros - 860,600
Cape Verde- 491,100
Sao Tome and Principe- 228,300
Seychelles- 105,000
Luxembourg -673,036
Malta- 539,607. If the word 'stupidly docile' doesn't describe US, I don't know what adjective to qualify OUR brand of hope.
The report also shows that more Nigerians (614,937) were killed than in the Russia - Ukraine war (67,000). This casualty figure in Nigeria is almost 10× more than the casualty figures in the Russia-Ukraine war.
If after reading this, we are just still concerned about our hustles and how God should protect us and our family without critically thinking about this situation. Then we ain't better than herds, herds around by herdsmen until time is appointed for their slaughter.
