British-Nigerian rapper and singer Darkoo, known for her hit song Focus on Me, has accused Peter Okoye (Mr. P) of sabotaging her music video. The dispute centers around a copyright infringement claim that temporarily removed the video from YouTube for six days.
Darkoo alleged that although she secured proper clearance for the sample used in the track—entitling Psquare to 50% of the song’s earnings—Peter Okoye demanded to feature on the song. While she initially declined, she later considered including him in a remix.
The rapper thanked Peter’s twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) and their elder brother Jude Okoye for stepping in to resolve the issue, leading to the video’s restoration.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans criticized Peter Okoye for his alleged actions, labeling them as unprofessional, while others urged caution, highlighting the need to hear his side of the story.
Fans shared divided opinions on social media, with comments ranging from:
- "Darkoo deserves better. This was unnecessary, Mr. P!"
- "We don’t know the full story yet; let’s not jump to conclusions."
- "Big ups to Paul and Jude for handling this professionally."
