Renowned gospel producer Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, founder of Eeze Conceptz Limited, has denied allegations made by gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, accusing him of misappropriating $345,000 in royalties.
Through his lawyer, Maxwell Opara, Onyedikachukwu described the claims as baseless and part of a smear campaign. He emphasized his pivotal role in discovering Chinwo’s talent in 2017 and elevating her career through a five-year contractual partnership under Eeze Conceptz.
The producer clarified that he was not Chinwo’s manager but her producer, tasked with overseeing her rise in the gospel music industry. Opara further alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), acting on Chinwo’s claims, issued an arrest warrant against Onyedikachukwu despite a lack of evidence.
“An audit conducted during my detention found no wrongdoing. The allegations are fabricated, and legal steps are underway to overturn the warrant,” Onyedikachukwu stated.
His legal team also accused Chinwo and the EFCC of spreading false narratives to tarnish his reputation. They assured the public that the ongoing legal proceedings would reveal the truth and uphold Onyedikachukwu’s innocence.
The case, which has drawn significant attention within the gospel music community, is expected to continue in January 2025. Both parties await the court’s verdict on this high-profile dispute.
