Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has officially claimed the title of 2024’s Box Office Champion, eclipsing the record set by fellow actress Toyin Abraham.

Awarded the prestigious title by Nigeria’s National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Toriola has cemented her place in Nollywood history with her blockbuster film, 'Queen Lateefah'.

Since its release in September, the movie has amassed a staggering N350 million in just two months, surpassing Abraham’s 2023 hit 'Malaika', which grossed N302 million.

With this monumental achievement, Queen Lateefah has climbed into the ranks of Nollywood’s Top 7 Highest-Grossing Films of All Time, setting its sights on breaking the records held by Funke Akindele’s iconic works, A Tribe Called Judah and Battle on Buka Street.
