Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has voiced his frustrations about Nigeria’s worsening economic situation, suggesting that 2009’s P-Square hit E No Easy would be the perfect anthem for this year’s hardships.

Taking to Snapchat, Gold commented on the song’s resonance, wishing he could add his own verse to express his frustrations with the current economy.

“Na this year P-Square suppose sing E No Easy,” he wrote, humorously adding, “Make them feature me, make I express my feelings for verse 3.”

Originally released on P-Square’s Danger album, E No Easy speaks to life’s struggles in challenging times. The song, produced by J. Martins, became a cross-cultural hit, even reappearing in France in 2012 as Positif, a French/English version featuring P-Square and Matt Houston.

Adekunle Gold’s comments highlight the growing frustrations shared by many Nigerians amid rising economic pressures. Fans responded warmly to his lighthearted take, resonating with the sentiment that some songs remain timeless in their relevance.
