Popular Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin has sparked concern after publicly accusing entertainment mogul Cubana Chiefpriest of threatening him over a less-than-favorable review of his restaurant in Imo State.
Famakin initially shared his visit to Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant on September 11, 2024, praising the ambiance but criticizing the use of microwaved pastries. In response, Chiefpriest seemingly took the critique in stride, commenting, “Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!”
However, the tone drastically changed behind the scenes. On September 12, 2024, Famakin posted screenshots of private messages from Chiefpriest, in which the entertainment mogul allegedly wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”
Alarmed by the exchange, Famakin expressed concern for his safety, writing, “I know a threat when I see one. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold.” He urged the public to hold Cubana Chiefpriest accountable should anything happen to him.
