Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has revealed that his career success is largely due to his hit song ‘Soweto.’ In a recent interview with Sound City, Victony expressed how the song significantly changed his life and career trajectory.
“‘Soweto’ changed my life. It changed my life in the sense that I was able to travel to places I didn’t believe that I would get to in a very short time,” he shared.
Victony noted that the song's success began in late 2022, and to maintain its momentum in 2023, he collaborated with Don Toliver and Rema on the remix. “They’re very big names and their sounds are not far from what ‘Soweto’ sounds like,” he explained.
Furthermore, Victony disclosed that he is currently an independent artist, navigating his career without the backing of a major record label. This independence underscores his personal achievement and the impact of ‘Soweto’ in propelling him to new heights in the music industry.
