Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, known as Spyro, has called for a temporary halt to entertainment activities in the country amidst the ongoing nationwide hunger protest tagged #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.
On Thursday, Spyro took to his Instagram story to express his concerns and urged fellow celebrities to join in amplifying the protest. He emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that the country's current state affects everyone, regardless of their status.
“I personally think it is quite insensitive to post anything entertainment now. The Country is bleeding and we are all affected whether we agree to that fact or not. I am very much affected and I particularly feel the pain of the average man,” Spyro wrote.

He called on individuals with platforms to speak up, hoping that the government would heed their collective cries and take substantial steps to improve the situation. He highlighted the need for visible actions alongside prayers, quoting the Bible: "Faith without works is dead."
Spyro also urged religious leaders to take a stand and speak out against the current state of affairs, drawing parallels to Biblical times when religious figures played pivotal roles in challenging government actions and advocating for the people.
"I wish Men of God can speak up for the people now as it was in the days of old…This is not a time to PRAY, it’s a time to ACT, even the Bible says 'FAITH without WORKS is dead.' In the Bible days, men of God were strong tools that God used to challenge the government and liberate the people. MOSES, your people need you now."

Spyro's call to action resonates with many Nigerians who are increasingly frustrated with the country's governance and economic situation. His statement underscores the need for solidarity among public figures and the importance of using their influence to advocate for positive change.
