In a statement shared on her X handle, the Oscar-nominated artist explained that the decision was made out of respect for the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance. Tems expressed her solidarity with the protesters and emphasized the importance of their voices being heard.
She wrote: "Out of respect for the ongoing protest at home 🇳🇬, I have decided to postpone the release of the ‘Burning’ music video. Praying for the safety of those outside at this time. May the voice of the people be heard."
