Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, recently opened up about the unique reason she fell in love with her husband, fellow singer Adekunle Gold.
The mother of one revealed that it was not initially Adekunle Gold's musical talent that won her heart, but rather his impressive skills in graphic design and Photoshop.
Simi made this revelation while praising her husband after he successfully edited a water bottle out of a photo of Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya. Onakoya had requested the favor on social media platform X, and Adekunle Gold, known for his previous work in graphic design, delivered.
Reposting the edited photo, Simi humorously commented, "This was why I fell for you. I don’t know who sent you to start singing."
Before his rise to fame as a singer, Adekunle Gold was well-known for his graphic designing abilities, including his work as a Photoshop artist. His talents in design even led to him creating the logo for Olamide’s record label, YBNL Nation, which eventually signed him and launched his music career.
Adekunle Gold and Simi, who are both celebrated figures in the Nigerian music industry, tied the knot on January 9, 2019, in Lagos. The couple welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020. Their relationship, which blends shared creative passions and a deep personal connection, continues to inspire fans across the world.
