John Cena Reveals His Biggest Fear: Never Being Ready to Be a "Great Parent" [Video]

American actor and wrestling superstar John Cena has opened up about his biggest fear: the concern that he might never be ready to invest the time needed to be a "great parent."

The 47-year-old, who has been married twice without having children, shared his thoughts during a recent interview on Club Shay Shay.

Cena explained that his busy lifestyle and ongoing ambitions leave him uncertain about dedicating the necessary time and energy to parenting. "My biggest fear is I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it takes to be a great parent," Cena admitted. "Because I still have a lot to do and I still want to do a lot."

He also mentioned that he has had open discussions about this with his current partner, Shay Shariatzadeh, and that they share the same values. Cena emphasized that it's a difficult topic to discuss because it often leads to judgment from others, but he remains content with his decision.

"I’m very happy with where I stand. I’ve a lot of joy and fulfillment in my life," he added.

Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from July 2009 until their divorce in July 2012. He married Shay Shariatzadeh in October 2020, but neither marriage has produced children.
