Nigerian singer Oxlade has announced a generous offer of N500,000 to a woman who gained viral attention for her poignant protest with an empty pot, symbolizing the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians.
This act of support comes amidst the nationwide demonstrations against economic challenges, dubbed ‘10 Days of Rage,’ which began on August 1, 2024.

The elderly woman, whose image holding the empty pot at a protest site on Kudirat Abiola Way in Ikeja, Lagos, quickly went viral, has become a symbol of the public's frustration with the current economic conditions. Oxlade took to X (formerly Twitter) on August 3, 2024, to request help in locating the woman, expressing his desire to provide her with financial support.

Oxlade’s gesture follows similar acts of kindness, reflecting a growing trend of public support for the protesters. Earlier in the week, Nigerians collectively raised N1.8 million for Ogwu Benjamin Chijioke, another protester who shared his financial struggles and the educational needs of his child.
These acts of generosity highlight the increasing solidarity among Nigerians during these challenging times. The protests, marked by the hashtag #EndBadGovernance, have drawn widespread attention to the severe impact of inflation and economic policies on everyday citizens.
Oxlade’s contribution underscores the role of public figures in supporting and amplifying the voices of those affected by the economic crisis. As the protests continue, the collective efforts of individuals and the public aim to address and bring attention to the grievances of those impacted by Nigeria’s economic policies.
However, fans have been asking if Oxlade has given the woman the money as he recently posted the comeback video of the woman to the protest ground after he picture went viral.
