Morris Monye, a well-known social media influencer and chairman of Delta State Sports Association, announced the passing of famous Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor on Sunday.
Monye shared the sad news via his official X handle, expressing his deep sorrow over the loss of the actor.
He wrote:
"Deeply heartbroken by the news of Amaechi Muonagor's passing.
He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful.
We watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India.
This tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country".
The 61-year-old Nollywood actor was reportedly begging for financial help for his kidney transplant sometime ago, which was confirmed on the 27th of November, 2023, by a close relative, Tony 'Oneweek, Muonagor's brother that the actor was suffering from kidney disease.
The actor was known for his role in films like Aki and Paw Paw, where he played the father of two mischievous teenagers.
Earlier in the month, another Nollywood actor Mr Ibu (John Okafor) passed away on March 2, 2024.
