More reactions have trailed Femi Gbajabiamila's remarks about gagging social media describing it as a menace during a book launch on Friday.
However, Amnesty International dropped a series of tweets to explain to Nigerians the consequences of the social media regulation. In the tweet, they said those who criticize the President risk a three-year jail term for condemning the president.

Nigeria’s social media regulation?
— Amnesty International Nigeria (@AmnestyNigeria) February 9, 2024
—Social media users will be punished for freely expressing their opinions.
—Govt. can arbitrarly shut down the internet and limit access to social media.
—Criticizing government will be punishable with penalties of up to three years in prison.
Isaac Fayose, brother to former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has responded to Femi's view on his Instagram page, saying that he doesn’t fear a three-year jail sentence or Femi Gbajabiamila. If he can’t fix Nigeria, he should step down.
He captioned the post thus:
“Who dey fear 3 years in prison??? Egbon Femi Gbajabiamila Abeg we know fear you …
If you can’t fix Nigeria you can resign!!!”.
