Ivory Coast Clinches 2024 AFCON Title with Sebastian Haller's Winning Goal against Nigeria: Final Score, Result 2-1

The AFCON 2023 final was eagerly awaited, featuring two African football giants who had faced difficulties in recent years. However, it was the hosts who managed to secure victory, despite their previous setbacks.

Sebastien Haller, is now adored the hero of the match. He made a remarkable comeback in the second half and scored the winning goal in the 81st minute for Ivory Coast. The Ivorians are now the champions of AFCON 2023 with the 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

At halftime, the Super Eagles, led by captain William Troost-Ekong, were in the lead despite initially struggling in the first half-hour. However, the hosts quickly equalized through Franck Kessie's header from a corner after the hour mark, and Haller's flick gave the Elephants the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Both teams had reached this stage of the tournament through late dramatic moments, so it was fitting that the match was decided in the final minutes. Nigeria had only conceded two goals throughout the tournament unable to withstand the continuous pressure from the Elephants throughout the entire 90 minutes of play.

Ivory Coast's victory is truly remarkable, considering they barely made it to the knockout stage as the last qualifying team and even had to dismiss their coach. However, under the guidance of interim coach, Emerse Fae, they embarked on an unlikely journey and ultimately clinched the trophy.

There is tears all over the stadium as winners shed tears of joy, while the looser shed tears of grief.
