Nigerian Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has candidly shared his aspirations of clinching a coveted Grammy Award in a recent interview.

As Nollywood had reported that Davido finds himself in the spotlight with three nominations at the upcoming 2024 Grammys. His fourth studio album, 'Timeless,' earned a nod in the prestigious Best Global Music Album category.

Additionally, his tracks 'Unavailable' and 'Feel' secured nominations in the Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance categories, respectively.

In the interview with GQ, Davido openly revealed that winning a Grammy is a daily prayer for him. The artist, known for his dynamic contributions to the music industry, expressed his genuine desire and dedication to claiming the coveted accolades.

Fans eagerly await the Grammys to see if Davido's earnest prayers will materialize into a triumphant moment in his illustrious career.

He said: “Everybody knows what one of my prayer points is now. I have been nominated for three Grammys. So, everybody knows what I am praying for every day I wake up.”

Davido is set to compete against fellow countryman Burna Boy, as well as Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu, and Gaurav Shah for the coveted Best Global Music Performance award.

In the Best Global Music Album category, Davido will go head-to-head with Burna Boy, Susana Baca, Shakti, and Bokante.

In the Best African Music Performance category, familiar names such as Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and South Africa's Tyla will be formidable competitors for Davido.
