In a somber turn of events, the Yoruba entertainment industry mourns the loss of Adedeji Aderemi, a seasoned actor widely recognized as Olofaina.

The veteran artist, aged 74, breathed his last on Thursday, leaving behind a legacy that resonates in the hearts of fans.

Hailing from Ede in Osun State, Olofaina had made Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, his home for several years.

Throughout his illustrious career, he made significant contributions to the world of Yoruba cinema, gracing the screens with memorable performances in iconic films such as "Ogbori Elemoso," "Ayanmo," "Bashorun Gaa," "Afonja," "Lagbondoko," and "Balogun Ibikunle," produced by the acclaimed Biodun Eleni-Latinwo, among others.

Close confidant Chief Musliu Dadofunjo, popularly known as Baba Jogunomi, sadly confirmed the news of Olofaina's demise to our source on Thursday evening.

The Yoruba film community and fans alike express their heartfelt condolences as they remember and celebrate the life and contributions of the late actor.

He said, “He died this evening. He has a house in Ibadan but he has returned to Ede where died at the age of 74.”


He was formerly the Solaloju of Ede and was upgraded to Majeobaje of Ede.
